GF is a division of Bunzl Canada. Our three divisions represent our core businesses: GF Packaging, GF Fastening and GF Service.

GF Packaging supplies industrial packaging, equipment and warehouse supplies. From stretch wrap to boxes and labeling products and everything in between, GF Packaging provides equipment, solutions and packaging warehouse supplies.

GF Fastening supplies tools, fasteners and accessories to contractors and industry.

We provide full service and support for everything we sell.

GF has store locations in the provinces of Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan.

How long have you been in business?

We have been in business since May 1967 (49 years), purchased by Bunzl Inc. June 2015. Bunzl Inc. is a global company headquartered out of London England.

We have one location for GF Calgary (Head Office) and 10 branches across Western Canada (SK, AB. and B.C.)

Additional Bunzl business partners located in Calgary are Wesclean and Planet Clean.

How many people does your organization employ? How many locally?

We employ 64 locally in Calgary - 172 total for GF locations.

What type of positions do you offer?

We hire full-time, and occasional summer seasonal (on hold for summer 2016).

We have a bribery code of ethics training module for all CSR's customers service, purchasing, Managers and Service Technicians.

Describe your hiring and interview process?

Applicants apply by submitting a résumé to our website. Cover letters that show some personality and practical experience that aligns with the job applied for is important. Once potential candidates have been chosen, telephone interviews are conducted. From there, face-to-face appointments are scheduled.

Depending on the position, applicants may be required to meet another manager or may be asked for references. Once reference checks clear, a position may be offered.

What do you look for in an employee?

We look for honest, hard workers, with a willingness to learn; People who are enthusiastic and have demonstrated life experience.

What type of education/training/equipment do you require?

It is always good for applicants to have an education related to the role applied for, but not always necessary.

What is the minimum age required to work for your company? Are there different age requirements for different positions?

18 years old.

Provide a wage range for entry level positions.

Warehouse Worker, Service Technician, Customer Service, Accounts Receivable, Junior Purchaser, Inside Sales, Entry Level Sales (face-to-face and on phone) $17.25/hr, up to $60,000/yr

What are the hours of the business and general shift times? Are there a minimum number of hours someone needs to work per week? Is there flexibility regarding school schedules?

We may do summer hours (not in 2016), but other than that, employees work full-time.

Is a uniform provided or do employees have to pay for it?

No uniform is required, but depending on the position, smart, casual dress is expected. Warehouse or service personnel can wear jeans (no holes).
