a) How long have you been in business?
Cert Logistics Inc. was created in 2015. We will have our 3rd anniversary of being fully operational on January 11, 2019.


b) How many locations do you have in Calgary and nationally/internationally? What locations are hiring locally in Calgary and area?
Cert only exists in one location as we are dedicated to one client.


c) How many people does your organization employ? How many locally?
We employ 350 people year-round but flex to approximately 400 in our busy times (Feb-June and Aug-Nov)


d) What type of positions do you offer?  (ex. Full time, part time, seasonal, contract etc.)
We offer full time permanent positions all year. We do not hire part-time, seasonally or contract unless it is a practicum or co-op position for students.

f) Describe opportunities for advancement.
After proving yourself in one of our entry level positions (pallet build, depalletizing, detailed receiving), if you are willing and able will be cross trained in to all other areas of the operations. You will also can apply for any internal posting which could include moving into the office, into inventory control or the maintenance departments as well as into an area lead position. Area Leads are considered for Operations Manager roles who are considered for Assistant General Manager role and finally to the General Manager.


g) List any corporate responsibility initiatives that your organization is currently involved in.
The management team volunteers their time to serve the community. Current examples include raising money for kids with special needs to participate in sports, Zoo lights, city park maintenance and improvement. We also donate to the Habitat for Humanity re-store, we send cash donations to the Children’s Hospital and we have a robust recycling program to support environment initiatives.

i) Describe your hiring and interview process?
We start with a pre-screening phone interview where we discuss shifts, pay and other basic requirements to work here such as having their own transportation to the site that is not Calgary Transit (although there is some transit available during the week but not on the weekends). If the candidate passes the pre-screening they are scheduled for an in-person interview on the site and if that goes well, an offer will be made. A criminal background check is conducted on the first day of hire.


j) What do you look for in an employee?
You do not need any experience in a warehouse setting to start working for us, we will train you on everything. If you have a great work ethic, a positive attitude, work well with others, can lift up to 50lbs, enjooy physical labour, have a clean criminal background you can be considered for employment with us.


k) What type of education/training/equipment do you require?
Although we would prefer a high school diploma, if you can pass our English comprehension and Math assessment (approximately at grade 8 level) you can be considered for hire.


l) What is the minimum age required to work for your company? Are there different age requirements for different positions?You must be 18 to work at Cert Logistics Inc.


m) Provide a wage range for entry level positions.$16.50/hour with a guaranteed increase at 6 months to $17.00, 12 months to $17.50 and 24 months to $18.00/hour.


n) What are the hours of the business and general shift times? Are there a minimum number of hours someone needs to work per week? Is there flexibility regarding school schedules?
We are a 7 day a week operation. Short weeks are 33 hours and long weeks are 44 hours on a 2-week rotation. We hire into full time roles only.

Employees need to provide their own green triangle steel toe shoes, however as an employee of Cert, they are eligible for a discount at Mister Safety Shoes
