At GardaWorld Aviation Services we provide pre-boarding security screening services across 28 airports in the Prairies and Central regions of Canada and are currently the largest provider to the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority, (CATSA). The Aviation Services Prairies Region is headquartered in Calgary, at the Calgary International Airport.

Describe your hiring and interview process?

We screen every application received and will invite selected candidates to a testing event. Successful candidates then proceed to a more in depth interview. Following a successful interview, candidates are invited to apply for a Transportation Security Clearance and to complete other prerequisite documentation, such as a background check and medical.

Transportation Security Clearance is required to start training. As this clearance can take 2-3 months to obtain it's recommended students apply 3 months before they seek employment.

What do you look for in an employee?

We are looking for candidates with great communication skills and at least one year of experience in a customer service role. Candidates must also be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident, have no criminal background and be fluent in English.

What type of education/training/equipment do you require?

Candidates must have a High School Diploma or the equivalent (GED).

What is the minimum age required to work for your company? Are there different age requirements for different positions?

For the Pre-Board Screening Officer role, candidates must be 18 or over.

Provide a wage range for entry level positions.

The salary range for this role is $22.30 - $23.53. Training is paid at the rate of $19.97.

What are the hours of the business and general shift times? Are there a minimum number of hours someone needs to work per week? Is there flexibility regarding school schedules?

Calgary Airport is a 24/7 operation. We require candidates to be available to work and commute for day and night shifts, including weekends and statutory holidays.
