How long have you been in business?

Since 1931, The Glencoe Club has been nestled between the beautiful communities of Mount Royal and Elbow Park in southwest Calgary. The Club is committed to creating exceptional experiences for the communities we serve.

We have two locations The Glencoe Club and The Glencoe Golf & Country Club.

The Glencoe Club is a private, family-oriented sports and social club located in the Elbow Park neighbourhood of Calgary, Alberta. Our members can train and play in our leading edge sports and recreation facilities; grow and excel in our vast array of programs; enjoy our specialist services; dine in our first-class restaurants; and create life long memories with family and friends. 

The Glencoe Golf & Country Club offers an abundance of golf opportunities and amenities. Nestled along the Elbow River and just minutes outside of Calgary, members are welcomed with pristine views and immersed in nature while enjoying an exceptional round of golf with family and friends.

There are always various jobs available at both locations with opportunities for candidates of all skill levels and experience.

How many people does your organization employ? How many locally?

The Downtown Club employs around 470 employees year-round and the Golf course, generally employs 250 employees during the Golf Season.

For almost 30 years, members and employees have donated their time, money and support in giving back to a number of various charitable organizations. The Glencoe Club is excited to continue this tradition with our season of giving and other charitable initiatives throughout the year. Each year, we elevate the awareness of Project Angel with a month-long, member targeted campaign during the holiday season. Many generous families participate in Project Angel and each year, more individuals, families and friends discover the joy of giving. The current charity of choice for Project Angel is Kid Sport.

Some entry level career opportunities that The Glencoe Club and The Glencoe Golf & Country Club offers are a Bowling Attendant, or Cafe 29 Cashier. The Bowling Attendant acts as the friendly face greeting members and guests during bowling league play, social functions, and open play. The Cafe 29 Cashier is responsible for ensuring exceptional member service experiences by providing prompt, efficient, and friendly service to our members and guests.

All resumes are sent to the hiring supervisor for review. The supervisor will review and screen applications. Short-listed candidates will be contacted directly.

We structure our interviews to reflect our core values. We want to make sure we are selecting the best candidate for each available position. To do this we want to find out about you, first through your resume and then, if selected, the interview process.

Interview Tips and Recommendations: Interview us while we interview you so that you have a clear picture of what you are committing to. Research the Glencoe; we like to hear what applicants know about us. Arrive on time. Map out the location and plan for weather and traffic. Remember The Glencoe has two locations: our Downtown Club and our Golf Course. If you cannot make the interview, please call to let us know. What type of education/training/equipment do you require?

A wonderful thing about the Glencoe Club & the Glencoe Golf & Country Club is that there are so many opportunities available for different skill levels and experiences! Each position may have different qualifications.

What is the minimum age required to work for your company? Are there different age requirements for different positions?

Generally, 16 years old. There may be opportunities from time to time for 15-year-olds at the downtown club.

Provide a wage range for entry level positions.

Wages are dependent on the position but wages for entry level positions can range from minimum wage to $16.00/hour.

What are the hours of the business and general shift times? Are there a minimum number of hours someone needs to work per week? Is there flexibility regarding school schedules?

Different departments have different shift times due to different departmental hours and needs. Part Time employees can work up to 29 hours per week and Full-Time employees work 30+ hours per week. Our supervisors generally request availability to ensure schedule needs are met for both the employee and the department.

Is a uniform provided or do employees have to pay for it?

For some departments uniforms are required. Should an employee require a uniform, this will be provided to the employee!
