a) How long have you been in business?
Foremost is a large and diverse industrial manufacturer. We specialize in equipment for oil & gas, mining, construction and water well markets and have grown to be one of the largest vacuum truck manufacturers in Canada. In early 2019, Foremost acquired the operating assets of Steel Craft Inc. and JTL Industries, leading to the addition of ULC Fuel Tanks and Agriculture Grain Bins to Foremost’s product line.

We operate in Alberta only. We have 4 sites across the province: Calgary, Stettler, Lloydminster and Hythe (just outside of Grande Prairie). We sell internationally but we operate ‘locally’.

We also offer discounts to Marks Work Wearhouse.
We offer tuition reimbursement for employees who go to school and work with us in between their semesters. Additionally, we have multiple training courses that shop crews must undertake for certain roles, which the company provides.

We work hard to promote within. We also have a loyal workforce, with some employees having been with us over 30 years. Our leadership recognizes talent and works to help talent grow and evolve into tomorrows leaders.

b) b) Describe your hiring and interview process?
For our shop roles, the resumes are forwarded to our foremen, who review them. They will contact the candidate and bring them in for an interview. The interview is usually 30-45 minutes.
c) What do you look for in an employee?
We look for candidates that align with our 6 core values: Customer Focus, People Matter, Stability, Accountability, Innovation, and Fun.
We look for people who have a desire to learn and grow with the company.
d) What type of education/training/equipment do you require?
Many of our shop roles are specific, such as welding, and require either an apprentice trade ticket or journeyman trade ticket. For some of our other roles, such as labourer, we require candidates to be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs, and be on their feet for long periods.
e) What is the minimum age required to work for your company? Are there different age requirements for different positions?
$16.71 - $24.77 per hour
g) What are the hours of the business and general shift times? Are there a minimum number of hours someone needs to work per week? Is there flexibility regarding school schedules?
We are open 7:00am-5:00pm Monday through Thursday, and 7:00am-11:00am on Fridays.
Our shop hours differ based on roles, however most of our employees work 6:00am-4:30pm Monday through Thursday, and Fridays off.
h) Is a uniform provided or do employees have to pay for it?
For entry level roles we do not have a uniform.
