Career Opportunities:

Package Handler:

            FedEx Ground is hiring individuals to load and unload packages for shifts of approximately 2-4 hours in our fast paced warehouse environment. Package Handlers are responsible for warehouse duties including: the physical loading, unloading and/or sorting of packages of varying sizes and weights by hand, including lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, scanning, placing packages, as well as physical bending, twisting, kneeling and etc. in a safe and efficient manner. Shifts may vary depending on warehouse package volume and business needs.

Ops Admin

            Responsible for performing the clerical and administrative functions for any or all hub and station operational areas, including linehaul, records management, quality assurance and customer service. Tends to damaged and incorrectly addressed packages in a timely manner to optimize delivery time. Serves as a customer’s first line of contact for a variety of issues.

Ops Coordinator

            Provides operational support through the coordination of the quality, service and administrative functions in the pickup and delivery area. Responsible for the dispatch of transportation equipment in accordance with the Linehaul plan to minimize costs and ensure service integrity. Performs process checks to ensure regulatory compliance.

Ops Manager

            This is a frontline manager position that supports the FedEx Ground (FXG) Safety Above All Culture and manages specific day-to-day operations and an assigned staff. Responsible for ensuring safe and efficient package sortation through the management of Package Handlers. The Operations Manager may also manage administrative employees and functions and ensures administrative processes are compliant with FXG policies and procedures and governmental regulations.

Describe your hiring and interview process?

  •  Applicants apply through our career portal, for package handler jobs every applicant is called and screened for the position. For non-package handler jobs applicants are reviewed my management and HR and candidates are contacted for interviews.

 What do you look for in an employee?

  • FedEx Ground hires and promotes based on merit, accomplishments, and skillsets. We are an equal opportunity employer.

   What type of education/training/equipment do you require?

  • No required education, training is done on the job. No heavy-duty equipment is used. Some package handlers have advancement opportunities to operate different pieces of equipment, training is provided, no license required.

What is the minimum age required to work for your company? Are there different age requirements for different positions?

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age to complete a successful criminal background check.

 Provide a wage range for entry level positions.

  •         $19-24 per hour.

What are the hours of the business and general shift times? Are there a minimum number of hours someone needs to work per week? Is there flexibility regarding school schedules?

  • Shifts are flexible, office staff generally work between 6 AM and 9 PM and shift lengths depend on the role. Package handling sorts run at 3 AM, 2 PM, 6 PM, and 10:30 PM and vary in shift lengths.

 Is a uniform provided or do employees have to pay for it?

  •  No uniform required.
