What kinds of opportunities exist for career latticing or lattering?
Volunteers are essential to the success of Run Calgary. It takes 1,700 volunteers to host the Sport Chek Mother's Day Run, Walk & Wheel and Servus Calgary Marathon, with even greater demands anticipated with Run Calgary now hosting the Calgary Police Classic. There are a variety of volunteer roles available to choose from, whether you want to be supporting athletes out on the race course or experiencing the energy of race weekend down at the Stampede Grounds.
Positions are open for those 14 and up include:
- Bag & Bike Check
- Diaper Dash (baby 'race)
- Finish Line Fluids
- Finish Line Food
- Kids Race
Give your resume a head start and use the event to gain valuable experience. Volunteering can be a great team-building exercise, a fun family bonding experience, a way to get school or work credit for volunteer hours, and an opportunity to meet new people. Even some of Run Calgary's staff started out as volunteers.

Run Calgary is a non-profit race organization, dedicated to
organizing high quality running events that enrich lives and foster community
through exceptional fitness experiences. Run Calgary events, including the
Calgary Marathon race weekend, bring more than 25,000 runners together
annually. Collectively, our events raise over $900,000 annually for local
charities and contribute to the health and vibrancy of our communities.
