At The Keg Steakhouse + Bar thousands of Keggers have been raising funds for different charities since our doors first opened in 1971. In 2001, we decided to consolidate our charitable efforts under one umbrella and The Keg Spirit Foundation was established. The mission of the Foundation is to support programs and charities that directly benefit the development of youth. Our goal is to recognize organizations that mirror the mentorship that The Keg has provided to so many young people over the years. Since its inception, The Keg Spirit Foundation has donated more than $10.5 million to charities in the communities that Kegs operate in. Since founded in 2001, we have been able to support more than 400 registered charities that demonstrate a commitment to youth.

Describe your hiring and interview process?
When applying online, your resume and application will be sent directly to the location, where the General Manager will review them. Candidates selected for an interview will be contacted via email or phone.
Our interviews are designed to get to know you better. We want to see your personality, passion, and hear why you’re interested in working with us. Experience isn’t necessarily always a requirement; we can build skills based on your enthusiasm and personality.
What do you look for in an employee?
The Keg difference is that we genuinely care about our guests, and we show it, one guest at a time. They see a reflection of that pride and care in the meals we serve. They see smiles that come naturally from people who welcome them, cook their steaks or serve them. Keg people are professionals, but they are also genuine and don’t take themselves too seriously. They know how to make guests feel welcome in the relaxed atmosphere they create.
What type of education/training/equipment do you require?
We don’t require formal education, specific training, or equipment for our entry-level positions. A strong desire to learn, paired with an exceptional personality, provides the perfect foundation for us to build skills from. For example, if you’re applying for a host position, we’re looking for someone passionate about meeting new people. For a dishwasher role, we seek individuals who take pride in cleanliness and understand that they are the cornerstone of maintaining a clean restaurant.
Certifications, such as a babysitting course, a food safety course, volunteer experience, or relevant post-secondary education, can certainly add value to a resume, especially if they align with the position you’re applying for.
Ultimately, we want to see our teams excel in their roles because they are genuinely passionate about the work.
It’s important to note that since our restaurant operates during dinner service, shifts may extend late into the evening. We ask that applicants have a reliable and safe method of transportation to and from their shifts.
