Associates normally start work with Walmart as a Part-Time Associate and we do the majority of our full-time recruitment internally. We have several different areas in our business to advance to including Full-Time Customer Service Associates, Backroom Fulfillment, Cashier, Courtesy Desk, Department Manager, Lead Department Manager, Assistant Store Managers and Distribution Facility roles.

Walmart takes great pride in giving back to the community in which we operate some of the initiatives we have corporately undertaken include:

i) Describe your hiring and interview process?
Interested candidates can apply online at careers.walmart.ca, select the store and available position they are most interested in and fill out all required personal and employment information. Following this step there will be an assessment to determine fit with the organization. If the candidate successfully passes this assessment an email invitation for will be sent to the candidate with the email provided to select a date and time for an in-store interview. If the candidate successfully passes the interview they will receive a job offer in their email inbox with the details of the role and hourly wage. Once accepted we require all associates over the age of 18 to pass a criminal background check. Upon successful completion of these steps will then initiate an orientation invite email in which the candidate can select their date and time of when they would like to begin their new role with Walmart!

No required education or training is required to apply

l) What is the minimum age required to work for your company? Are there different age requirements for different positions?
Minimum age requirement is 16 to work in customer service focused areas and 18+ to work in our receiving and backroom areas.

m) Provide a wage range for entry level positions.
$15.15+ for entry level positions. We do take into consideration previous applicable experience.

n) What are the hours of the business and general shift times? Are there a minimum number of hours someone needs to work per week? Is there flexibility regarding school schedules?
Walmart is open from 7a-11p seven days a week. Shifts can begin as early as 6am and go as late as 12 midnight. With our Part-Time Flex positions there is no required minimum hours to work per week. We make every effort to be flexible in scheduling for school schedules.

o) Is a uniform provided or do employees have to pay for it?
Walmart has a dress code which requires associates to wear either a solid white or black top and either black pants or dark blue jeans. Walmart does not provide reimbursement for clothing to align with our dress code. If the role requires the use of steel toed boots we provide 1 pair per year and details of the program can be discussed with your hiring manager.
