Calgary facility has been open since June 11, 1979.
b) How many people does your organization employ? How many locally?
Approximately 420 employees in Calgary.
c) What type of positions do you offer? (ex. Full time, part time, seasonal, contract etc.)
Full-time hourly, part-time hourly, seasonal hourly, contract, salary.
d) Describe opportunities for advancement.
For hourly positions that are unionized we are on a seniority bases, non-union hourly positions and salaried positions we like to promote from within when possible – all employees can apply to any positions we have open as long as they’ve been in their current position from 6 months – a year.
e) How would someone find out about opportunities at your company? How can a candidate apply?

f) Describe your hiring and interview process?
First stage is usually a phone screen, then an in-person interview if the hiring manager likes the summary of the phone screen, then the successful candidate will get an offer letter and will have to go through a background check. This whole process typically takes 2-3 weeks.
g) What do you look for in an employee?
We are looking for people that drive innovation, develop their selves and others, collaborate with the system, customers and stakeholders, inspire others, and act like owners – these are all our key leadership behaviors.
h) What type of education/training/equipment do you require?
It depends on the position – each job description on our career site will specify what the requirements are. For most hourly positions we like people to have experience with pallet jacks (manual and powered), and forklift experience can be an asset. For salaried positions it depends on which department the position is for – we look at both experience and education. The minimum education requirement is a high school diploma or a GED.
i) What is the minimum age required to work for your company? Are there different age requirements for different positions?
The minimum age requirement is 18 for Alberta.
j) Provide a wage range for entry level positions.
Our wages range from $18-19.93 for entry level hourly positions in Alberta.
k) What are the hours of the business and general shift times? Are there a minimum number of hours someone needs to work per week? Is there flexibility regarding school schedules?
We run 24/7 in Calgary, and for hourly positions in warehouse/production/distribution the shift times are 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, and 10pm-6am. Merchandisers have a bit more flex to the hours and can be made around school schedules depending on if the hiring manager is able to accommodate it.
