Glencoe Club

The Glencoe Golf & Country Club is a premier private 45-hole family golf club located on Elbow River Drive. This 45-hole golf course is complemented with a magnificent Clubhouse, fully stocked Golf Shop, three halfway houses, on-course food & beverage carts, as well as a complete maintenance department. We are the largest golf club in Canada and the number one ranked Practice Facility in North America.

Does your organization have other locations besides Calgary?

We also have The Glencoe Club which is an athletic club closer to downtown Calgary. The Glencoe Club is a busy, family-oriented, private sport and social club located in the beautiful community of Elbow Park, Calgary. In addition to numerous food & beverage outlets we offer eight sport facilities including; tennis, squash, badminton, curling, ice skating, bowling, a large fitness facility and an indoor and outdoor swimming pool. We offer full time, part time and seasonal positions at this location as well.

How many employees does your organization employ?

240 during season at the golf course. 300 at the downtown club.

What type of positions do you offer?

We offer a variety of part-time, full-time and seasonal positions. We offer positions in Turf Care, Food & Beverage and a number of other departments. Working at The Glencoe Golf & Country Club is the ideal summer job as it enables students to work throughout their summer break.

What is your hiring process?

After we receive a resume and decide to move forward, we will do a prescreen and then organize an interview. As a standard part of our interviewing process we will perform a criminal background check and a reference check on all applicants. If it is decided to hire the applicant we will send out an offer letter and organize an orientation. Prior to starting work any employee will have to complete Respect In Workplace online training session.

What type of education/training/equipment do you require?

Training required does depend on the role applied for. We make sure all our employees feel comfortable in their roles and will provide extra training if needed.

How old does someone have to be to work for your company?

We usually hire employees that are at least 16 years of age. In our food and beverage areas if you are serving liquor you have to be 18.

How much will employees get paid?

Our wages range depending on experience and on the position applied for. Our wages are very competitive in the industry.

The Glencoe Club's mission is "creating extraordinary experiences for the communities we serve." These communities range from the immediate Elbow Park to Calgary as a whole. The Glencoe Club supports local and national charities including Avenue 15 Homeless Youth Shelter, a division of The Calgary Boys & Girls Club. We also host an annual gala partnered with The Boys & Girls Club Calgary to raise funds to support this valuable organization.

In the past The Glencoe Golf & Country Club has held one-day Golf Tournaments to raise funds for the Rockyview General Hospital enabling them to buy much needed new equipment.
